Read all about it
And get the news that matters
Daily news coverage of these turbulent times in which we live. Read it on the site or have it sent directly to you via e-mail.
The United States has the greatest impact on events--whether for good or for ill--of any power in the world today. The US is a democracy, and its citizens are ultimately responsible for what it does. Thus it is essential, given the instability of the international situation and the impetuous and high-handed behavior of the people currently running the American government, for thoughtful citizens to stay well informed about what that government is doing.
This can be difficult, as it is virtually impossible to get a real sense of events without reading coverage from mainstream and alternative media, from both the US and other countries. Even finding these news sources can be a challenge, and most people simply do not have the time to devote to it.
Our purpose is to help solve that problem. We publish a daily e-newsletter of select items culled from news services, publications, and other media from around the world. The newsletter is sent directly to subscribers, and is also posted daily on this site (see Today's news), along with archives and supporting documents. We hope the War and Peace Watch can contribute to a clearer understanding of these turbulent and dangerous (though interesting) times. If you would like to receive the daily e-mailings, please see To subscribe.
